world.SAIL

It was the 3rd day of my summer training here in Steel Authority of India limited and things have really started to get better and serious from today. t has been pretty uneventful so far. Well that is not counting the experience gained over the past two months, the things I have learnt, the grub I have had to survive upon Yada yada...

As my application was rejected by the authority I was pretty relaxed that my holidays are going to be real fun and work free. But thanks to my dad, who made it a dream for me. As an ex-employee he pulled it off all over again and made an 4th semester student continue his training with other 6th semester guys.

The first 2days were very boring and it very well gave a view of slow running public sectors. What could be quite easily done in a couple of hours, they made us to stay there from 10 to 5 in the evening. After 2days of safety lectures we’re finally allowed to go inside the Steel Plant today. We were provided with a map of the whole area, a security pass, an attendance and schedule sheet and most importantly a helmet. Speaking of us, we’re 8 boys from different colleges, all belonging to “E&TC” branch. We started off at 10. As per schedule our first sector was Wheel and Axle Plant, where railway wheels were made, and I came to know that this is the only place in India where this is made. It also turned out to be the place where my grandpa was in charge during his job. But it wasn’t good news, as we walked for straight 1hour to get to that place. Remember why my father always said that you can’t see the whole place in a single day. After 3 hours of seeing things around how they work we’d to come all the way back. Despite of the tiredness, I was very happy and I enjoyed it a lot.

I hope the next 2 weeks goes well. And I’m pretty sure that I’ll get to see lot more interesting things from tomorrow. .And so on. But that’s the best part; as long as I have something to enjoy, I will have something to blog about too.
