Up on Cloud No. 9

The show was over at around 10:30 pm and we started getting back. We were literally limping and it was hard for us even to walk. We managed to walk out of the venue and booked an auto for us to the station. When we reached we decided to eat something, as we didn’t have anything. To our distress it was 11:30 at night and almost all food courts near the station were closed down. Finally we managed to get into a restaurant cum bar. Had the famous hyderabadi chicken biryani with a full bottle of Budweiser.

After we’re done, we came to the station. We’d our train at 8 am in the morning and we planned to stay in the waiting room. But we’re not allowed to enter the waiting room. We’d to stay at the platform all night. Next day, the train was on time and we got onto our berth and went for a much needed sleep. We woke up around 2 in the afternoon and discussed about the concert and went back to sleep again. At 5 in the evening we came to know about the results of 3rd semester which was declared then only. Everything was going on well including the results as both of us passed in all subjects. We’re happy thinking about the exam days. We’re back to our monastery at 5 in the morning. Finished off the electromagnetic theory assignment and attended the classes from 9:30.

This post has been written in three small parts (though they aren’t small). Please read the bottom two posts first. thank you.

Those were the best days of my life…

From 2 o’ clock in the afternoon till 5 we’re sitting outside the gates for being in the first row of the crowd. In sometime people started gathering around. Some were talking about how he performed in pune. Some talked about how the delhi concert was cancelled. Around 5 the gates were opened, and people started forming lines in 4 columns for the security check. While checking me, he said that I couldn’t take my camera in. I was sent out of the que. I put my camera inside my bag and joined a diff line. And this security wanted to check my bag as well. He let me through despite noticing the cam inside my bag. Guess I was lucky.

As expected we two got in the first row which was around 50 yards from the stage. The DJ was playing his songs and it was really feeling great at that time when each beat coming from those sound towers entered our ears. In no time a whole crowd was there, waiting like us for the legend. 40 feet sound towers, full LED wall made it perfect for the BRYAN ADAMS LIVE IN CONCERT. It was scheduled to start at 7 but somehow got delayed and we couldn’t wait any longer. Each muscle in my legs were begging mercy, guess they were not made to stand for 5 long hours. The time between 7 and 8 was really awful, both the wait and the music. People started cursing the DJ. :P

At last we got to see him. It was Around 20:15 hours when the concert began. He came and started singing.  All of a sudden there was no more pain in our legs, it was as if we’re just complaining because he was late. After 2 songs he said,”hi!! I’m Bryan Adams” . The whole crowd went crazy with his smoky voice when he sung his all time hits, “”summer of ‘69, here i am, heaven, everything i do, let’s make a night, 18 till i die””.

It was about an hour when suddenly a security jumped in and tried seizing my camera. Warned me to hand him the battery or else he’s going to kick my ass out from there. While he was checking others with cameras I slipped out at the back and saved my battery while others had to give theirs. During this whole stuff I dropped my shades in the crowd and was damn lucky enough to find it after 5 mins without being crushed by someone’s feet. I came forward, back to my position after 15 mins and enjoyed the show. But there was someone even luckier than me, one fan was allowed to come up on stage and sing with Bryan Adams. At the end he asked everyone to put up their cell phones in the air, and he took a picture of that crowd. He finished off with two songs on his acoustic guitar. It was the only time I felt bad because i was running out of storage space on my card and couldn’t record it.

I’m ready to hold you…

I guess I learned that, if u want something or someone you’ve to go for it. Really, we should say YES! to life, YES is the new NO :P <<now much of movie dialogues>> . I am so excited that I feel I must blog about it too, having twittered and facebooked about it already.

“Kritansh”(annual tech fest of KIIT University) commenced on 14th of feb with much hullabaloo but I was quite far away from these stuff as I knew that a much awaited and a much bigger event was in store for me.. As some friends around me were busy making cards and wrapping gifts for their inamorata [:P] , and  I enjoyed one more v-day being single.. New couples started forming in the campus.. heartbreaks and heartaches were the flavor of that day .anyways..the day passed and everything was ready for 15th .. as it all started then only..

My roomie and me started off at around 12 in the afternoon… when we reached the station we came to know that our train was running late by an hour.. spending an hour at the station made us do all that what a bored brain can do.. clicking absurd pictures of rails, peanuts and even the water coolers. The train finally arrived and we’re off to witness something truly awesome… the journey was a bit tiring but we squeezed that tiredness out of our body only to experience the ultimate..

We reached Hyderabad around 11 am. a friend of ours was already there to receive us. Each time we called him informing about our whereabouts, a lady picked up the phone which we guessed as our friend’s mom. But it was his girlfriend, about whom we knew from the 1st days of college.. it was nice meeting both of them. They booked an auto for us, speaking some local language we thought they were booking it at some lower rates..(Though it charged 230 rupees). J we reached the venue in an hour witnessing many things that we’d never seen before.. the city was like same as a contemporary city would be like.. but a PORSCHE and HARLEY DAVIDSON showroom made all the difference. Above all, a black ROLLS ROYCE PHANTOM was a thing you would rarely see on Indian roads. Once reached we walked straight to the ticket pick up points and got our passes.. my roomie stated them as the most beautiful thing made of paper…

As informed at the counter the gates were to open at 5 pm.. so we had around 4 hrs to check out that place. Clicked some random pics. And then we had our lunch, it was a Nepali restaurant ,the cuisine was a bit different, rather funny but I liked the food…surprisingly when I took out a large bill to pay the amount, he took his tip by his own and thanked me. then we sat under a tree, my friend smoked some ciggys and then we went back to the venue. Found our way to the silver entry gates and started waiting for them to open.
